Developing Cultural Matters gathering French Ambassador and Sulaimaniyah Governor

 

On 8th October 2008 Jan Franco Jiron, French Ambassador in Iraq and his companied delegations met Dana Ahmed Majeed, Sulaimaniyah Governor, in Government Premises and they discussed about their relations.

In the meeting French ambassador in Iraq appreciated that progress which was achieved in Sulaimaniyah, and mentioned these steps that the Cultural Centers putting in actions for acquainting Kurdish society with French Cultures, the delegate head appreciated maintaining the security matter in Sulaimaniyah district and talked about those arrangements which done for holding Documentary Films Festival for next year in Sulaimaniyah. Meanwhile, the Governor appreciated France Government efforts for deepening the relations between Kurds and French and participating in promoting Regional and Iraqi infrastructure.

 The Governor preferred French Professors and teachers to visit Kurdistan so as the Kurdistan Universities also take advantage of their scientific talents, and encouraging the producing companies come to Sulaimaniyah and make business, for strengthening their relations the Governor asked France Government to open its office in Sulaimaniyah.

After the meeting with the Governor, the delegation visited Kurdish-French Center in Sulaimaniyah which is a great centre for culture and French Language and they intend to visit Sulaimaniyah University
